On Monday, my partner and I brought in a rescue kitten that was found 2 days prior to our visit. The kitten had crusted-shut eyes, no appetite, and a runny nose. (Year or so later) Update: Well my boy got another ear infection , so we were back at the vets.I am truly grateful for Animal Hospital of Southbay. They really care about my boy and his well being, and aren’t just after your money. If anyone is looking for a GENUINE vet, one that TRULY CARES about you & your fur baby.. I cannot RECOMMEND ANIMAL HOSPITAL SOUTHBAY ENOUGH!!! Honestly one of THE BEST vets I’ve ever been to.Recently switched here from another Animal hospital and I’m far more satisfied with the level of care I received here than anywhere else I’ve gone. I was at another location when My sweet boy had an ear infection and was very protective and would only let certain people touch him or he growled. Needless to say they wanted to give him something to make him sleep while they checked his ears. Here at Southbay they let me be in the room , hold him and comfort him to assure him and everything went well. No need to put him to sleep. I’ll definitely be returning and HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! 🤩👍🏼

Vet's are always super expensive but I did appreciate that the doctor was very clear in communicating with me and breaking down the necessary steps to to see what is happening with my dog, the only complain I have, is that I was told that I was going to get a call on Monday with blood test results and is Wednesday and I have not gotten a call. Will try again tomorrow, and I did call on Monday and was told someone else was going to call me because the doctor that saw my dog was not there, other than that, the place is clean and have AC which is good for my pug so he won't get too hot.

Dr. A has been the most helpful and amazing vet I have ever met. Every appointment my dog has had he’s been very good! He saved my girl! It’s important to trust your vet ,we recently brought our 22 month old golden retriever in for a pre natal exam . Dr Marchan has been our vet before he opened this hospital. Unfortunately X-rays of our girls hips showed mild hip disease and Dr. Marchan suggested that we do not breed her. We were crushed with this news yet have enough trust in Dr. Marchan to follow his advice. Sometimes the truth hurts . We then proceeded to trust Dr. Marchan to spay her. He fit her into his busy schedule and did a fantastic job . It broke our heart to fix her but we believe that it was for the best. Dr. A (Andrew Arriola) and the whole staff at Animal Hospital of South Bay is wonderful. I brought my dog, Sophie, a 7 year old maltese-shih tzu, here after leaving my previous vet, just for a routine checkup as well as to observe a cough she had developed. He diagnosed her that day with heart disease which was obviously a shock as she had been nothing but healthy according to our previous vet. He took X-rays and showed us everything and walked us through it all.As a puppy, we were told by our previous vet that she had a heart murmur but to bring her in every 6 months for a check up so they could continue to keep an eye on it. We thought they were monitoring it but according to Dr. A, they were not. This was extremely jarring to hear but Dr. A was very reassuring that with proper medication (that we started immediately) and seeking a cardiologist, we could delay her heart failure. Throughout this whole process Dr. A understood our surprise, sadness, and frustrations and did an amazing job at educating and comforting me and my family.After following the proper protocol and doing everything we could for Sophie to ensure she was comfortable, we unfortunately made the decision to euthanize and, when we did, Dr. A and his staff were extremely supportive. After her passing, we received a card signed by all the staff members which meant a lot. Although we lost Sophie, Dr. A was able to buy us invaluable time with her that we wouldn't have gotten had we never gone to him and stayed at our previous vet -- grateful doesn't even begin to cover it.
